DeepDrill is made by Mateusz Olczyk, an individual developer based in Poland. You can reach me at matt.olczyk@gmail.com.
The short version. DeepDrill has no accounts and no server of its own. Your game progress never leaves your phone. The only data that goes anywhere is what Google's advertising and analytics SDKs collect — and analytics collection stays switched off until you agree to it.
All of the following is written to app-private storage and is never transmitted by DeepDrill:
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it. There is no cloud copy to delete, because none was ever made.
DeepDrill shows ads through Google AdMob: optional rewarded video you start yourself, and one banner on the Settings screen. Google acts as an independent controller for this data. To serve and measure ads, the AdMob SDK may process your advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and app information, and ad-interaction events.
Google's own policy explains what it does with that data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
On first launch DeepDrill shows Google's consent form (the UMP SDK). In regions covered by the GDPR and similar laws, that form is how you accept or refuse personalised advertising. You can revisit the choice at any time: Settings → Privacy options. Refusing personalised ads does not lock you out of anything in the game.
DeepDrill uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to see which features get used and to receive crash reports.
Collection is off by default. Nothing is sent until your consent status is resolved, and the app enables collection only if you agreed. When enabled, these SDKs may process pseudonymous identifiers (including the advertising ID), device model, OS version, app version, in-app events such as opening a screen or watching a rewarded ad, and — for crashes — a stack trace with device state at the moment of the crash. Crash reports never contain your feedback text or exported logs.
| Permission | Why the app has it |
|---|---|
INTERNETACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Fetching ads and, with your consent, sending analytics and crash reports. The game itself works with no connection. |
VIBRATE | Short haptic feedback when you tap the drill. |
AD_ID | Access to the advertising ID, used by AdMob and Analytics. You can reset or delete it in Android's own settings. |
WAKE_LOCK, FOREGROUND_SERVICE, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_*, READ_BASIC_PHONE_STATE, install-referrer | Added automatically by the Google Play services, AdMob and Firebase libraries for their own scheduling and attribution. DeepDrill does not use them directly. |
DeepDrill requests no sensitive permissions: no camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no storage access outside its own sandbox.
DeepDrill is not directed at children under 13. It is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact me and I will help you get it removed from the relevant Google service.
I keep nothing, because I receive nothing — I have no server and no database. Data held by Google follows Google's own retention schedules, described in the policy linked above. Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data concerning you; for data processed by Google in this app, exercise those rights through Google, and write to me if you need help doing so.
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
